The Cookie Joint is an online cookie specialty store who has their local bakery based in Northrbook, they produce Gourmet Cookies and Cookie Fries. They were already successful before working with AdverGroup. As “The Cookie Joint” has been featured on Oprah’s list of favorite things and various nationally syndicated television shows like “Access Hollywood” and “Chopped” a cooking show that appears on the Food Network. However, they were running their website through a platform that was taking 25% commission on all of their sales. They knew it was time to take control of their online sales and time to develop a new eCommerce website that they could control. They learned about AdverGroup through a friend. This fiend works for another local bakery, of which we assisted in the redevelopment of their bakery website. While reviewing our portfolio, they learned that we do more than just eCommerce web design, as we also provide product photography, social media management and more. This led them to realize that we would be the best choice among local web designers, and a great local partner to move forward with managing their website redevelopment and digital marketing needs.

- Custom Shopify eCommerce Theme Design using the Shopify eCommerce Platform. When designing websites for clients we do not dictate which platform is selected. We evaluate the clients objectives and provide recommendations. Knowing the client had goals to make purchasing gourmet cookie baskets and cookie fries, we new Shopify should be considered. We then examined all the other needs of the project and determined that we were able to deliver all that was required by the projects objectives using Shopify eCommerce platform.

Creation of Client’s eCommerce Product Feed .This client had no pre-existing eCommerce website. All that was provided to us was an excel spreadsheet that provided minimal data relative to their current inventory. We took that information and created a master product feed that possessed all the field headings for data tables as required to formulate a “product feed” that could be imported into the Shopify eCommerce Platform.
- Product Options and Variants for eCommerce Bakery Products: Being a bakery, you could imagine the many product options that could be possible with these food products. Custom options implemented in this project were: cake sizes, cake flavors, icing flavors, custom name inscriptions, cello bag wrapping and more. Even more complicating these options needed to be applied to individual products and/or collections and in some cases were required to change the final product price by adding additional costs for options.

Custom Contact Fields in Checkout Process. This client required customers to verify the vehicle fo which they are purchasing rims and tires for. The solution was to add a custom field to the check out process. That way, the sales rep can verify fitment before the very expensive product would be shipped via freight carrier

Tax overrides configured for Shopify eCommerce: Shopify for taxes as part of their PCI compliance configuration and in effort to make configurations easy for clients. But what about when you have a food product that only collects 1.75% rather than the tax percentages forced by Shopify? The solution is to configure custom tax overrides in Shopify.

Custom Email Notifications to Customers and Administrators: This client required their very custom eCommerce website to provide specific details on their invoices and emails to customers and administrators. We custom coded their eCommerce invoices and email notifications to include all the information relative to their specific: pick-up locations, pick-up date, pick-up time, deliveries, discounts and more.
- Content Creation: Website included service page content creation. Meaning that AdverGroup wrote all eCommerce policy text for this bakery website design project. We coded all webpage articles to include proper metadata for search engine optimization for gourmet cookies. Their pre-existing website had a press page which was a single webpage that listed their many notable press. However, we wrote each of these notable press items into their own search optimized articles that could be used on social media to achieve unique clicks, or social media referrals back to their website.
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for Shopify eCommerce Website: We coded all metadata on their homepage and webpages, we also produced Search Optimized Blog Content and SEO Blog Configuration plus SEO Optimized Content Creation for this gourmet cookie bakery.

Social Media Management for Local Bakery and Online Cookie Shop
In addition to redeveloping this clients website, we also took over management of all of their social media accounts. This included creating and scheduling posts, responding to customer inquiries and reviews, and monitoring social media analytics. Our SEO efforts also extended to their social media presence, as we optimized their profiles with relevant keywords and hashtags. We also used link building strategies by sharing their website content on social media platforms, helping to drive more traffic to their site. To improve conversions on social media, we created eye-catching graphics and visuals that showcased the bakery’s delicious products. These images were widely shared by followers, increasing brand awareness and ultimately driving more sales.
